The Gas Works offers high quality gas installations in Cape Town while adhering to strict health and safety regulations.

However, with the current nationwide lockdown, the scope of our services has been reduced, requiring us to make the necessary, temporary adjustments to our offerings.

Gas Installation Regulations & Essential Services

Businesses within the gas industry are considered essential services, including The Gas Works.

However, our team made a collective decision to adhere to the lockdown regulations as rigidly as possible, as a commitment to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

This decision was made in an effort to keep our staff, family and valued customers safe from harm to the best of our ability.

Having said that, we have provided emergency assistance for clients who have had extreme emergency situations.

Furthermore, remote assistance has been provided for clients with less urgent matters such as tracing a gas leak in their residential gas installation.

This was done telephonically as one of our gas technicians provided step-by-step instructions on how to detect and repair the leak effectively.

Once the lockdown has been lifted, we will be calling on all our clients who we assisted telephonically to assess the gas installation, do additional repairs and to ensure that the installation adheres to regulations.

At this stage, we don’t know how long this lockdown will last and, once it is over, life and business will be very different.

From the Gas Works side, we will take every precautionary measure to make ourselves and our clients safe during any call outs, now and in the future.

If we are unable to provide remote assistance, we will make alternative arrangements to call on you to get your installation safe before returning after lockdown to carry out proper repairs.

Once repairs are complete, we will issue a Gas Certificate of Compliance.
